RELEASE: The Doe Fund Receives TD Charitable Foundation Grant

June 15, 2017, NEW YORK—The Doe Fund announced today receipt of a $5,000 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®. The grant was awarded for The Doe Fund’s Ready, Willing & Able transitional work program, which provides economic opportunity for formerly incarcerated and homeless men, in New York City. TD Charitable Foundation has generously funded The Doe Fund’s work since 2010. This year’s grant marks the Foundation’s largest award to the organization to date.

Ready, Willing & Able addresses the root causes of recidivism, homelessness and poverty. At the heart of the multi-phase residential program is paid transitional work, complemented by career development and training, social services, and education. Men complete the program with the work and life skills they need to achieve permanent self-sufficiency and economic independence. Since 1990, the program has returned tens of thousands of men back to their families and communities as productive, stable members of society.

The TD Charitable Foundation grant will be invested in the Ready, Willing & Able programs at The Doe Fund’s residential facilities in Harlem and Brooklyn. The three facilities collectively serve more than 2,000 men each year.
